Neatly finished data cabinet with organised Cat6 cabling after office infrastructure upgrade in Hertfordshire

Delivering Out-of-Hours Office Refit for Lift Company in Hertfordshire

In April, we helped a lift company in Hertfordshire upgrade their office data and power infrastructure to support their growing needs.

The project involved replacing outdated and unsuitable data and power cabling on a single floor of their offices, with 80 new Cat6 outlets and an equal number of power sockets installed.

Working Around the Client’s Needs

Originally scheduled as a standard 5-day job, our team and the electricians had carefully planned how to work alongside each other during office hours. However, just two weeks before the start date, the client’s MD decided that keeping staff working from home for a full week was not ideal.

At his request — and at a revised cost — we adapted our plan to deliver the bulk of the work out of hours, working long shifts across a weekend to minimise disruption to the business. We returned on Monday and Tuesday to complete, with Wednesday as a contingency, though everything was completed as agreed within the adjusted schedule.

A Polished Finish

Once the client’s IT team had relocated the hardware and settled staff back in, we returned a few weeks later to remove the remaining old patch panels, patch leads, and redundant cabling — leaving a clean, professional finish.

What the Client Said

“Hi Phil, I just wanted to say thank you.
The guys who have been working here have been fantastic. Very polite and helpful, not often I have come across workers that tidy up after themselves either.
Not sure if they all work for you or not but whoever they work for they have represented the company brilliantly and would highly recommend them all.”

We’re proud of how our team rose to the challenge and delivered a high-quality result with minimal disruption.

Why upgrading to Cat6 & clean installs is good for business (faster speeds, reliability, health & safety)

Investing in modern Cat6 cabling and a clean, professional installation has real benefits for your business. Faster, more reliable network speeds mean your team can work efficiently, with fewer dropouts and delays — essential for cloud systems, video calls, and growing workloads. A tidy, well-organised setup also improves reliability by reducing the risk of faults and makes it easier to maintain or upgrade in the future. And by removing redundant, messy cabling, you create a safer workplace, reducing trip hazards and meeting health and safety standards.

Ready to ditch the messy old cabling and get your office running faster and smarter? Drop us a line — we’ll work around you and leave the place looking better (and tidier) than we found it.
